About Leida Snow
Here's a short bio...
For some 13 years, I covered the cultural life of New York as Theater Critic for 1010 WINS Radio (WINS-AM/NY). I also reviewed and/or reported on theater for WABC-TV/NY and Variety, and wrote for the Hollywood Reporter, Opera News, Ballet Review, Newsday, and various theater-related magazines.
My byline has been in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Global Finance Magazine, Newsday, Forbes, PBS NextAvenue, Tablet, Straus Media, NY Daily News, and more. “20 Minutes a Day To a More Powerful Intelligence” (Playboy Press) was co-written with Arbie Dale, Ph.D., and I have ghost-written other books.
For several years I served as President of the Drama Desk (theater critics association) and produced and hosted the Drama Desk Awards.
Listeners may also remember my voice from ABC Radio/NY (network news anchor) or WQXR-FM/NY (music host and newscaster).
I was honored to receive a 2023 MORE Award from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) for my Next Avenue article, “Falling Can Be Fatal.”
My reports for ABC News during the Iran hostage crisis garnered an Armstrong award, and “Roadblock to Learning,” a 5-part series on Dyslexia for ABC News, took the Grand Award at the International Radio Festival of New York.
I have also served as Publications Chair for the American Society of Journalists and Authors (ASJA).
